Mutant Football League 2 is bigger and faster than the original and takes brutal, arcade-style football to new heights. Digital Dreams is also adding new modes and ways to shake up the classic game with new features and play modes including:
● Create Your Own MFL Team – Now you can create and name your own MFL franchise. Customize your team’s uniforms, branding, identity, stadium and even the team’s musical theme
● Doom Field Editor - Choose your stadium type, name it and lay the traps and hazards to create 6,395 square yards of Hell on turf.
● Player Personalization – Your players get even bigger and more badass with jaw-dropping customization, better armor, and other items that will guarantee that even their mothers won’t love them.

Mutant Football League 2 Predicts the Winner of Mayhem Bowl LIX!
Chicago, Ill. – February 7, 2025 – The Karcass City Creeps outlasted the Killadelphia Evils 34-28 in this year's simulation of Mayhem Bowl LIX on Mutant League Football 2. In one of the bloodiest, most bone-crunching Mayhem Bowls to ever take place, the Karcass City Creeps, led by future Hall of Maim quarterback, Hatrick Myhomies, beat the Wailen Hurtz lead Killadelphia Evils in a game that bled into overtime. The game gave millions of viewers around the world a hefty dose of deja vu as the Creeps came from behind to, just as they did two years ago (In fact, we're not sure they actually played a new game, because we were seeing babies pitching eTrade and we're pretty sure that already happened). And just like in the first match up of these two great franchises, late questionable calls by the refs helped pave the way to a Karcass City victory.
Now, we're not saying we're psychic, but last year's Mutant Football League 2 simulation of the big game nailed the winner, the team that covered the spread and the over/under total. So those of you that like to gamble on the game (which would be, um, everyone?) might want to take note. Please also note we took the over 6.5 appearances by Taylor Swift bet.

CREATE YOUR OWN MFL TEAM!
One of the most highly requested features by the community, Team Customization, has officially arrived in MFL2!
While still in development, this feature is already playable on Steam Early Access – and we couldn’t wait to get it into your hands. Now you can create and name your very own MFL team, customize it to match your unique style, and take it online to dominate the competition.
Here’s how it works:
When you start a Season Mode game, you’ll have the option to Create a Team or stick with a Default Team.
If you choose to create a team, you’ll have everything you need to craft a team that’s uniquely yours, showcasing your creativity and style both on and off the field. You’ll be in control of it all - from uniforms to branding to defining your team’s identity.
NAME YOUR TEAM
The first step in creating your ultimate MFL team is choosing a name that’s as unique and badass as the players themselves! Whether you want something bold, hilarious, or downright terrifying, the possibilities are endless.
You can mix and match words from different categories to craft a name that stands out in online play. And if you’re looking for even more customization word options, let us know—we’re always open to adding fan requests in future updates!
CHOOSE YOUR TEAM LOGO
Your team branding is more than just a logo - it’s a statement of your team’s identity, attitude, and how you dominate on the field. Are you a smashmouth squad that crushes everything in your path, or a precision team that outsmarts the opposition? The choice is yours!
While the current logo selection in the game is a bit limited, rest assured—we’ll be adding plenty of new logos throughout the development cycle, so stay tuned for even more ways to customize your team.
SELECT YOUR TEAM COLORS
Now it’s time to design your team’s color scheme and make a bold statement on the field! Will your team stick to traditional hues, or are you setting new fashion trends with the Dead Man Walking Fall in the Grave collection?
Your jersey color choice will define your team’s dominant look, while your logo will take on the same color to create a unified and intimidating presence. The right colors don’t just make a statement -- they make the team!
TEAM IDENTITY
As the legendary Peter Townshend asks, “Who are you?” Your team identity defines what kind of squad you want to field. Will you build a precision passing powerhouse that carves up defenses or a bruising juggernaut that dominates on defense with bone-crushing tackles?
The choices you make here shape not only your team’s playstyle - by determining which positions have the highest-rated players - but also your initial offensive and defensive playbooks.

With your team nearly complete, it’s time to focus on where the carnage unfolds -- your home turf! What kind of arena suits your team’s style? Will it be a fiery hellscape, a treacherous desert wasteland, or something else entirely? The choice is yours.

EDIT ARENA NAME
Now that you’ve chosen your stadium type, it’s time to give it a name that strikes fear into the hearts of your opponents. Whether it’s something ominous, chaotic, or downright terrifying, the name sets the tone for the mayhem ahead.
The naming functionality works just like naming your team, so get creative and let your imagination run wild!
ARENA LOCATION
Now it’s time to choose the perfect setting for your team’s home turf. Pick the city, country, place, or even planet where your team and stadium will be located.
Whether it’s a bustling metropolis, an icy wasteland, or an alien world, your choice adds a unique flavor to your team’s identity.
DOOM FIELD DESIGNER: CREATE YOUR FIELD OF SCREAMS
It’s time to let your creativity run wild! Step into the Doom Field Designer and craft your very own custom battlefield - where your team reigns supreme and your opponents meet their doom.
Hazards
First-Person View: Get up close and personal with your creation, immersing yourself in the field as you design.
Top-Down View: Perfect for big-picture planning, allowing you to strategically place traps and hazards with precision.
Unleash your imagination by designing a unique set of traps and hazards for opposing teams. Each stadium type comes with its own arsenal of deadly obstacles, adding variety and making every custom field a truly one-of-a-kind nightmare. Whether it’s spike traps, landmines, or something more sinister, your field becomes a weapon in your team’s arsenal.
Moats
Choose the perfect hazard to fill your sideline moats and give opposing teams something extra to worry about. From bubbling burning lava to oozing toxic sludge, your choices will ensure no one leaves your field unscathed.
Weather
Set the stage for chaos by customizing your stadium’s weather conditions! Decide the probability of weather events, how many can occur during a game, and the intensity of each storm.
Keep in mind, not all weather events are available on every field, so choose your stadium wisely to maximize the carnage!
The Doom Field Designer is something you won’t find in any other football game. So go ahead, have fun, and create the deadliest field imaginable!
TEAM THEME
Last, but certainly not least, it’s time to choose a team theme that defines your squad’s swagger and announces your arrival in style. Your theme will electrify the crowd as your team storms the field before kickoff, celebrate your scores, and punctuate the game’s most epic moments.
Choose from a variety of musical genres to match your team’s personality, including rock and roll, hip-hop, country, speed metal, or even K-Pop.
And this is just the beginning—more music tracks will be added throughout our development cycle, giving you even more ways to make your team unforgettable!

Q&A – YOUR QUESTIONS, ANSWERED!
Q: Will MFL2 be on the Switch 2?
A: Yes! We’re planning for MFL2 to be available on the Switch 2. We’re just waiting for Nintendo to release their dev kits so we can get started.
Q: Why do we have to select from pre-defined names and logos in Create-a-Team mode? We want to type in custom names and upload our own logo images.
A: We agree that would be the ideal solution! However, there are a few bad apples who might abuse this system by creating names or uploading images designed to hurt others.
While MFL2 isn’t politically correct (and we love poking fun at everything), there’s a line we won’t cross. Our priority is creating a fun, inclusive environment for everyone, free from harassment or disturbing content.
Q: Is MFL2 moving toward a pay-to-win monetization model?
A: NO. Karnage Coins are earned as in-game rewards - you cannot buy them with real money. This system is still being developed and for now, should be ignored.
At some point, we may sell character skins (cosmetic only), but that’s still TBD. Look at how we build our games: our development focus is always on gameplay first. If we were prioritizing a monetization model, that’s what we’d be developing from the start - just like many other football games out there. Instead, Digital Dreams focuses on one thing: making the game fun.

Mutant Football League: Dynasty Edition
MFL1 ROSTERS UPDATED for the 2024 SEASON!
That’s right! MFL1 just got a fresh roster update for the 2024 season, with all-new rookie players, updated ratings, and rosters. Plus, we’re running some sweet sales leading up to Halloween! Know someone who’d love MFL’s crazy arcade-style football? Now’s the time to gift them the game — they’ll be thinking of you every time they unleash chaos on the field!
"But wait," you ask, "I thought you weren’t updating MFL1 this year?" Well, read on...
MFL2 RELEASE STATUS:
We originally planned to release MFL2 this fall, but the truth is, we’re still hard at work making it the best game it can be. To keep our core features and high standards intact, we’ve pushed the release to Fall 2025.
Now, for the serious part... It’s been an incredibly challenging year for our team. While some members have safely relocated to places like Spain, Sweden, and Chicago, others remain in Kyiv, where they face ongoing power outages and missile attacks. In all my years of game development, I’ve seen plenty of ups and downs, but nothing compares to the hardships our team is enduring right now.
The realities of war have made game development more unpredictable and risky than ever, but our small team—many of whom have been with us since the beginning—continues to push forward. They are more than just colleagues; they are family, and we are deeply grateful for their unwavering dedication and bravery. Despite the extreme circumstances, they remain focused on moving this project forward, and we couldn’t be prouder of their resilience!
STEAM EARLY ACCESS STATUS:
We wanted to have a section in this newsletter for our Early Access Steam players. What? Some of you didn’t know MFL2 is on Steam Early Access and you can play the game now. A: Absolutely! It wasn’t at first, but we heard from the MFL2 Steam community and our tech lead, Ivan worked some magic, and now it runs nice. We’re still planning more improvements!
Q: What is (will be) the cost of Early Access, and what should players expect to encounter during early access?
A: Early Access is $24.99, and here’s what you’ll get:

A: TBD! We’ll need a publishing partner for a physical release, so stay tuned!
Q: How much of a difference has the added player on the field made to the game in terms of diversity of play and new strategy available to players?
A: The move to 8 players has made the game more dynamic, with a wider range of offensive strategies. From 4-receiver sets to 2 running backs, it’s added depth and made your Bruise Receiver (tight end) a major part of the action. Defenses are going to have their hands full!
Q: With customization, will this include microtransactions and if so, will you be ensuring that microtransactions never give any form of gameplay advantage?
A: No way! Microtransactions, if we have them, will only be cosmetic. Gameplay will always be based on skill and strategy. No pay-to-win here!
Q: When can we expect Mutant Hockey League, and will you follow with other sports?
A: Trust me, no one wants MHL more than I do. But first, we need to get MFL2 out the door. If it’s successful, we might just skate our way to Mutant Hockey League next!
